Jelena Ostapenko and her Taiwanese partner Hsieh Su-wei defeated an American-Norwegian doubles pair in two sets, with the second set decided by a tiebreak, securing their place in the quarterfinals of the Toronto WTA tournament's doubles event.

First Set

The match began evenly, with the favorites missing several break-point chances in the third and fourth games, allowing their opponents to move ahead 3:1. However, after the opponents committed a double fault and struggled through several rallies, Ostapenko and Hsieh clawed back and broke serve in the final game to close out the set 6:4.

Second Set

The second set also opened with a tense moment, as Ostapenko and Hsieh had to fend off break points early on. They then built a lead by breaking their opponents' serve to reach 4:3, though the American-Norwegian pair leveled the score soon after. In a key game, two strong serves helped Ostapenko and Hsieh reach 5:4, but their opponents held serve to force a tiebreak.

In the tiebreak, Ostapenko and Hsieh jumped out to a 4:0 lead and, despite their opponents' attempts to close the gap, sealed the tiebreak 7:1, taking the set 7:6 overall.
