Ostapenko drops one spot in WTA singles ranking, holds 13th in doubles

Latvia's top-ranked tennis player Aljona Ostapenko has slipped one place to 32nd in the latest WTA singles ranking, while keeping 13th in doubles. She is set to begin the US Open next week.

In the newest Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles ranking, Latvia's number one player Aljona Ostapenko has dropped one spot to 32nd place. She will begin the US Open next week.

Other Latvian players saw mixed movement. Darja Semenjistaja, who lost in the final US Open qualifying round, remained unchanged at 109th. Beatrise Zeltina fell six places to 470th, while retired player Anastasija Sevastova dropped two spots to 591st.

Elza Tomase fell four places to 669th, Sabine Rutlauka dropped two spots to 717th, and Adelina Lacinova slipped nine places to 777th. Diana Marcinkevica also lost nine spots, landing at 880th, Daniela Vismane dropped eight places to 1039th, and Daniela Darta Feldmane fell four spots to 1252nd. The only Latvian to climb was Anna Ozerova, who gained 26 places to reach 1491st.

Top ten unchanged

There were no changes among the top ten, with Belarus's Aryna Sabalenka retaining first place. She is followed by Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina, Americans Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff, Russia's Mirra Andreeva, Czechs Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova, Poland's Iga Swiatek, Ukraine's Elina Svitolina and American Amanda Anisimova.

Doubles ranking

In the WTA doubles ranking, Ostapenko holds her 13th position, and Semenjistaja's ranking (167th) also stayed the same. Zeltina lost two spots to 324th, Sevastova dropped six places to 537th, while Tomase climbed 24 spots to 644th. Marcinkevica fell seven places to 880th, and Feldmane dropped nine spots to 961st. Nine more Latvian players remain outside the doubles top thousand. The Czech Republic's Katerina Siniakova continues to lead the doubles ranking.
