Second Riga Contemporary Art Fair 'Riga Contemporary' to Open in July
On July 2, Riga will host the second edition of the contemporary art fair 'Riga Contemporary', aiming to make art accessible to everyone.

Although Latvia still lacks a dedicated contemporary art museum, Riga's cultural scene has recently seen several major contemporary art events. At the end of May, the second Riga Art Week took place, and now the second Riga Contemporary Art Fair 'Riga Contemporary' is set to open its doors on July 2.
The fair aims to bring contemporary art closer to a wider audience, encouraging everyone to become a 'friend of art'. It will gather both local and international artists and galleries, offering a chance to explore current trends in visual art. Visitors will not only view works but also have the opportunity to purchase them and engage in dialogue with the art world.
The second edition promises to be larger than the first, with a broader range of participants and a more diverse program. Specific venues and the list of participants have yet to be announced, but organizers promise that the event will be a significant highlight in Riga's cultural calendar. 'Riga Contemporary' seeks to strengthen Riga's position as a regional hub for contemporary art, even without a permanent museum space.
