Latvia to warm up to +23 degrees on Tuesday
Tuesday will bring warm and mostly dry weather to Latvia, with temperatures climbing to +19..+23 degrees, though brief evening showers are expected in the west and central parts of the country.
Early Tuesday morning, Latvia is experiencing mostly light cloud cover with no precipitation, according to meteorological data. Overnight and morning temperatures dropped to +10..+13 degrees, with coastal areas remaining about a degree warmer in some spots. A slow to moderate southerly wind is blowing, and air quality is rated as very good. In Riga, morning winds are blowing at three to four meters per second, with thermometers showing +11..+13 degrees.
Monday's warmth records
On Monday, the observation network run by the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre recorded the warmest conditions in Stalgene, where temperatures reached +22 degrees, while the coolest reading came from Aluksne at +17.1 degrees.
Tuesday's forecast
Forecasters predict that Tuesday's air temperature across the country will rise to +19..+23 degrees. Clouds will partially cover the sky, and brief rain is expected in the evening in parts of the country's western and central regions. Winds will blow moderately from the south, strengthening in gusts to 9-14 meters per second. No precipitation is expected in Riga, though wind gusts there could reach up to 12 meters per second, with temperatures warming to +22 degrees in the capital.
The synoptic situation shows a low-pressure area to the northwest of Latvia and an anticyclone to the southeast. Atmospheric pressure at sea level ranges between 1013 and 1019 hectopascals.
