Ozolnieki Music School renamed Music and Art School
As of October 1, Ozolnieki Music School has been renamed Ozolnieki Music and Art School after launching a new visual arts program. The school currently has more than 140 students.

The Jelgava municipality has announced that Ozolnieki Music School changed its name to Ozolnieki Music and Art School starting October 1. The change reflects the launch this school year of a new professional-track education program called "Visual-Plastic Art I."
New art program
In the program, students learn the basics of drawing and painting, along with various materials, techniques, and means of artistic expression. Children may begin while attending first or second grade at a general school, and the full program lasts seven years. This year, 26 students are enrolled in the new art program.
Enrollment still open for preparatory groups
The professional-track classes in both music and art are already full for this school year. However, parents can still enroll children in the preparatory groups "Music ABCs" and "Art ABCs."
The school today
The school now has more than 140 children and young people studying across ten licensed professional-track programs in musical instruments, including piano, accordion, violin, cello, flute, saxophone, trumpet, euphonium, and percussion. The school also runs several instrumental ensembles, a jazz orchestra, a chamber orchestra, a choir, and a modern rhythm music program.
