Pakruojis Manor, a historic estate in Lithuania, is devoting the whole of October to seniors to mark the International Day of Older Persons. Older visitors get special admission terms during the manor's autumn festival, according to manor representative Danute Vareikaite. The estate is described as one of the largest historic manors in Lithuania.

The "Baroque Autumn" festival

This autumn the manor is holding its first harvest and art festival, "Baroque Autumn". More than 80 tonnes of locally grown vegetables and fruit have been arranged into large baroque-style carpets of patterns and ornaments. Pumpkins, cabbages, apples, corn and other autumn produce are used. Visitors can view them while walking through the manor gardens.

On weekends the manor hosts theatrical programmes and a baroque market, with manor characters and music. Visitors are promised a chance to experience the atmosphere of manor life from centuries ago and taste dishes in the manor tradition.

Offers for seniors

On weekdays, seniors are invited to stroll around the festival grounds at a special price starting from 8 euros. The ticket lets them see the autumn compositions and the manor park.

Organised senior groups have separate offers that include catering. The trip can be extended with various manor-life experiences. The manor also invites seniors' families, friends and communities to visit the festival.
