Palkova Earned Over €26,000 as Ombudsman Last Year
Ombudsman Karina Palkova received €26,166 in salary for the three and a half months she served in 2025. Her primary income came from Riga Stradiņš University.
According to her 2025 official asset declaration, Ombudsman Karina Palkova earned €26,166 in her position over three and a half months last year. Her main source of income was her job at Riga Stradiņš University, where she received €74,880, plus an additional €626. She also gained €10,201 from selling forest land and €675 from her company SIA "KP Consulting & Law", where she served as board chair until September 25. The State Social Insurance Agency paid her €1,200 in benefits, and Swedbank paid €457 in interest. Both the University of Latvia and the official publication "Latvijas Vēstnesis" each contributed €200. Additionally, she declared €88 from the Children's Clinical University Hospital and €53 from AS "RPH marketing Latvia". Palkova owns land in Ņukši parish and real estate in Indra parish. By year-end, she had accumulated €28,751 in non-cash savings. It was previously reported that the Saeima approved Palkova for the ombudsman post on September 18, 2025, after predecessor Juris Jansons resigned in June.
