South Florida's Palm Beach Airport Renamed President Donald J. Trump International
Palm Beach International Airport officially changed its name to President Donald J. Trump International Airport on Thursday, with new signage being installed and the airport code set to change in August.

A South Florida airport officially changed its name on Thursday to the President Donald J. Trump International Airport. Signs for the Palm Beach International Airport have been removed, while new signage is being put up. Airport officials said in a Facebook post that the transition will take several weeks, with old and new branding coexisting in the meantime. The first plane to arrive under the new name was 'Trump Force One,' a Boeing 757 owned by The Trump Organisation, shortly after 5 a.m. On board was the president's son, Eric Trump, who regularly uses the airport when visiting Mar-a-Lago. A stretch of road from the airport to Trump's estate was renamed Donald J. Trump Boulevard earlier this year. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation earlier in 2026 making the name change possible. The cost for new signs, branding, and other updates is expected to reach up to $5.5 million (€4.8 million). The three-letter airport code will change from PBI to DJT on August 18. Eric Trump posted on X that he will be proud to see 'DJT' on his boarding pass. A passenger departing on Thursday expressed surprise but said it's just a name and a distraction. Also on Thursday, a ceremony in Dandridge, Tennessee, renamed the I-40 Bridge to the Donald J. Trump Bridge. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, and Representative Tim Burchett attended. Bessent said no one is more deserving of the honor. Since returning to the White House, Trump has repeatedly sought to put his name on official spaces. Last month, a federal judge rejected a bid to halt the removal of Trump's name from the Kennedy Centre in Washington, D.C.
