Refusing alcohol test leads to probation and driving ban
A Jelgava resident, Mark Z., has been sentenced to 16 months of probation supervision and a five-year driving ban for refusing an alcohol influence test.

On May 19, the Zemgale Regional Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against Mark Z., a resident of Jelgava. He was found guilty of refusing to undergo an alcohol influence test.
The court imposed a 16-month probation supervision period and revoked his driving license for five years. The ruling also notes that Mark Z. will have to cover significant material costs.
The case was initiated after Mark Z. refused to take an alcohol test. The verdict came into force on May 19 of this year.
This case serves as a reminder that refusing an alcohol test can lead to serious legal and financial consequences.
