Laura Buravcova, former deputy head for education, has been confirmed as the director of Jaunmārupe Primary School following a rigorous open competition with 11 applicants.

At an extraordinary meeting of the Mārupe Municipality Council on July 22, 2026, Laura Buravcova was approved as the director of Jaunmārupe Primary School, having been selected through an open competition.
The competition attracted significant interest, with 11 candidates applying. The selection process consisted of multiple stages: in the second stage, three candidates were shortlisted, and in the third stage, Buravcova, who had previously served as the school's deputy head for education, was chosen as the most suitable candidate.
With 20 years of experience in education, Buravcova has demonstrated herself as a professional, knowledgeable, and responsible leader with skills in strategic planning and change management. Colleagues describe her as responsive, fair, and respectful, able to listen, encourage, and unite the team toward common goals.
