Parasport shooter Ieva Melle reaches quarterfinals at world ranking tournament
Latvian parasport shooter Ieva Melle advanced to the quarterfinals of the world ranking tournament in Nové Město on Wednesday, defeating Ukraine's Anna Shevchenko.

Latvian parasport shooter Ieva Melle reached the quarterfinals of the world ranking tournament in Nové Město, Czech Republic, on Wednesday, competing in the recurve bow category.
In the qualification round, Melle scored 563 points, placing fourth among 20 participants. She then defeated Ukrainian athlete Anna Shevchenko 6–2 in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, she will face Brazil's Fabiola Dergovica.
In the W1 class, Toms Jankovskis scored 616 points, securing 15th place out of 23 competitors. He will face Israel's Dmitry Bezbozhny in the first elimination round on Thursday.
Latvia is also represented by Jānis Kants, who scored 519 points in the recurve bow qualification, ranking 33rd out of 39 participants. He lost 5–6 to Poland's Marcin Chmielewski in the first elimination round on Wednesday.
The tournament in Nové Město features 177 athletes from 30 countries and will conclude on Saturday.
