Bear with cubs spotted in Pardaugava; residents urged to be cautious

The Riga City Council has received information that on Saturday, July 25, a female bear with cubs was spotted in the Imanta neighborhood of Pardaugava. Since the movement of wild animals in urban environments can pose risks to both people and the animals themselves, the municipality urges residents to exercise caution.

If anyone encounters a bear, they are strongly advised not to approach it. Currently, responsible services are checking the area to verify the accuracy of the reported sighting. Residents are asked to report any observations to the relevant authorities.
