The city restaurant "Lapsas māja" (Fox House) has been put up for sale, according to information from the business sector. The restaurant was established in 2014 by confectioner Liene Zemīte, whose nickname Lapsa (Fox) and the restaurant's name both stem from the television show "Lapsa virtuvē" (Fox in the Kitchen), which she hosted.

The restaurant originally operated in Riga's Āgenskalns district, but after four years it relocated to the city center, where it remains today.

Change of ownership

In 2024, Zemīte sold half of the company to her longtime colleague Anita Korņējeva, who had worked at the restaurant almost since its first day of operation. In September 2025, Zemīte announced she had sold her remaining share as well, making Korņējeva the sole owner of the restaurant.

It has now emerged that Korņējeva herself has listed the restaurant for sale. Business outlet "Delfi Bizness" contacted her to ask about the reasons behind the decision, but had not received a response by the time of publication.
