Xreal Aura smart glasses with Android XR go on sale
Xreal has started selling its Aura smart glasses, the first wired glasses built on the Android XR platform. They are discounted through the end of the year, with shipping expected in mid-November.

Technology company Xreal has begun selling its Aura smart glasses, which run on Android XR. This extended reality (XR) operating system was co-developed by Google and Samsung. The glasses were first shown this year at Google's developer conference, Google I/O, and are the first wired glasses to use the platform. Customers who order before the end of the year get a discounted price.
Design and operation
The glasses weigh under 95 grams and look like a slightly bulkier version of ordinary glasses. They run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Reality Elite chip. The tradeoff is that they must be tethered to a separate puck that handles battery and computing. The puck includes a built-in trackpad and a fingerprint sensor.
Xreal pitches the Aura as an all-purpose spatial computing wearable for work, entertainment, gaming and AI-assisted tasks. Google's Gemini assistant is built into the system, and 150 dedicated XR experiences are available from the start, along with standard Google Play apps.
Games and accessories
Games made for XR include the puzzle game Cubism and Fallout: Factions, a virtual version of the Fallout tabletop game. GameSir worked with Xreal on a gamepad designed for the Aura, with a dedicated Gemini key that summons the chatbot during play. A wireless portable keyboard has also been announced, and a laptop or handheld gaming PC can be connected via USB-C. External devices appear in the spatial workspace next to the built-in apps.
Specifications and pricing
The glasses have a 70-degree field of view, Micro-OLED displays and 1200p resolution at 120Hz. Bose tuned the built-in open-ear speakers. The 12GB + 256GB model costs $1,099 through December, compared with the usual $1,279. The 16GB + 512GB variant costs $1,299 for the rest of 2026, down from the usual $1,499. Shipping is expected to begin in mid-November.
