Transfer gossip: Man Utd and Liverpool eye Mitchell, Bayern watch Gibbs-White

Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell, 27, is drawing increasing interest from both Manchester United and Liverpool, according to the latest round of transfer gossip.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa attacker Alejandro Garnacho, who joined on loan from Chelsea in the summer but has struggled to break into the side, is reportedly being watched by clubs in Spain's La Liga.

Ward set for Liverpool return

Liverpool are preparing to reappoint Julian Ward, 45, as sporting director. He currently serves as Fenway Sports Group's technical director and would replace Richard Hughes in a role he previously held during the 2022-23 season.

Bayern Munich are said to be interested in Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, while Arsenal intend to use the September international break to work out details of a new long-term contract for Declan Rice. The club holds an option to extend his current deal by a year but wants a longer commitment in line with its approach to key players.

Liverpool remain committed to developing Florian Wirtz despite reports that Bayern Munich have made contact with his representatives.

Further reports mention Chelsea tracking 15-year-old Gambian midfielder Adama Jeng, AC Milan and Roma exploring a possible loan for Real Madrid forward Endrick, and Barcelona scouting 19-year-old Brazilian Arthur Dias of Athletico Paranaense. It is also claimed Arsenal came close to signing Vinicius Jr from Real Madrid over the summer.
