Children used to carry out thefts
The investigation revealed that children were actively involved in the scheme, sent out to steal from unsuspecting tourists. Investigators also uncovered troubling details about the living conditions these children faced away from their "work."
Daily earnings reached tens of thousands of euros
According to investigation findings, the gang was able to "earn" around 25,000 euros in a single day from stolen valuables and cash. These proceeds allowed the organizers and leaders of the scheme to live in luxury, while the children who actually committed the thefts reportedly saw little to no benefit from the money.
