One dead and five wounded in shooting spree near Paris
A 26-year-old man was killed and five people, including a 12-year-old girl, were wounded in a series of armed attacks in a suburb of the French capital. French authorities are investigating the case as a terrorist crime.

A series of armed attacks in a suburb of Paris has left one person dead and five others injured. Among the wounded is a 12-year-old girl. French authorities are treating the incident as an act of terrorism, which places the case in the hands of the country's anti-terrorism prosecutors.
The first attack, carried out by gunfire from a moving car, took place in Trappes, a town southwest of Paris. The shooter then moved to nearby La Verrière, according to the BBC's Russian service. Media reports say the victim who died was a 26-year-old man.
Suspect detained
The suspected gunman was detained in the town of Coignières. Local media report that he is 39 years old and had come to the attention of police before, but was not known to French intelligence services. France's anti-terrorism prosecutor's office told BFMTV that the suspect was not on the register of people considered a serious security threat.
Motive still unclear
Authorities have not yet spoken with certainty about his motives. However, France's National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) stated that the incident appears to be a murder linked to terrorist activity.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez told reporters in Trappes that this was undoubtedly a crime of a terrorist nature, adding that this was precisely what the prosecutor had stated.
