Fan Favorite Vozinha

FIFA has announced the fan-voted World Cup Dream XI, with the biggest surprise coming from Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha. The 40-year-old, who spent the season in the Portuguese second division, received nearly 40% of the votes in his position, outperforming global stars such as Kylian Mbappé (29.8%), Jude Bellingham (29.0%), and Erling Haaland (27.5%).

Vozinha's Tournament Performance

Vozinha kept clean sheets against Spain (0-0) and Saudi Arabia (0-0), making 10 saves in those matches. He conceded two goals against Uruguay (2-2), and in the round of 32 against Argentina, he made eight saves despite Cape Verde losing 2-3 in extra time. Although Spain's Unai Simón was named the tournament's best goalkeeper, Vozinha dominated the fan vote.

Other Dream XI Members

The Dream XI includes three players each from Spain (Cucurella, Porro, Rodri) and France (Mbappé, Olise, Upamecano), two from Argentina (Messi, Lisandro Martínez), and one each from England (Bellingham), Norway (Haaland), and Cape Verde (Vozinha). The fifth-highest vote getter in his position was Spanish defender Marc Cucurella (22.6%), while Lionel Messi received 22.2%.
