A Just Russia falls short of 5% threshold in State Duma elections
With 95% of ballots counted in Russia's State Duma elections, the A Just Russia party has received 4.96% of the party-list vote, falling just below the 5% threshold needed for representation.
With 94.95% of ballots counted in Russia's State Duma elections, the A Just Russia party has garnered 4.96% of the party-list vote, narrowly missing the 5% threshold required to win seats through the federal list. The party has not yet issued a statement on the preliminary results.
Ruling party United Russia holds a commanding lead on the party-list vote with 57.83%. The Communist Party of Russia (KPRF) follows with 13.81%, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) with 8.97%, and New People with 7.06%.
Single-mandate districts
According to Russian business outlet RBC, United Russia candidates are leading in 209 of the 225 single-mandate districts. KPRF is projected to win five seats, while A Just Russia and independent candidates are each on track for four. LDPR is projected to take two seats, and Rodina one.
The State Duma has 450 seats in total, split evenly between federal party lists and single-mandate district races. Based on preliminary results, United Russia could once again secure a constitutional majority, which requires 301 seats.
