Latvian parties have spent nearly €2.8 million on election campaigning
Ahead of the upcoming elections, Latvian political parties have already spent almost €2.8 million on self-promotion, with the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS), the United List and Latvia First leading in spending.

Political parties in Latvia have so far spent close to €2.8 million on their pre-election advertising campaigns, according to information broadcast Friday evening by Latvian Television's news program "Panorāma".
Top spenders
Three parties stand out as the biggest spenders on campaign advertising so far: the United List, the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS), and Latvia First. These parties have invested more in promoting themselves than other election contestants.
The broadcast did not provide a detailed breakdown of spending by individual party, but confirmed that the combined total spent by all parties on self-promotion has reached nearly €2.78 million.
Pre-election campaign spending is traditionally one of the indicators used to gauge parties' financial resources and the intensity of their campaigns ahead of a vote. Information on party expenditures is made public to ensure greater transparency in the electoral process.
