World Cup Final: Spain and Argentina Goalless After First Half
Spain and Argentina played a goalless first half in the World Cup final, with neither team able to find the back of the net before the break.

In the 4th minute, Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez saved a shot from Lamine Yamal from a good position inside the box. Shortly after, Yamal again reached the penalty area but his shot was blocked. Argentina responded with a counterattack, but Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon rushed out of his area to stop the play.
Alexis Mac Allister nearly received a yellow card for a foul on a Spanish player, but the referee only gave a verbal warning. Midway through the half, Spain earned a corner kick, but Martinez caught the ball. Lionel Messi started an attack for Argentina but was quickly stopped.
Towards the end of the half, Spain kept possession around Argentina's box, and Mikel Oyarzabal had a shot saved by Martinez. Lisandro Martinez escaped a yellow card for stopping a Spanish counterattack. In the 44th minute, Lisandro Martinez was forced off due to injury and was replaced by Nicolas Otamendi.
