Diaspora Latvians Form New Dance Group for US Song and Dance Festival
Young participants of the legendary '2x2' seminar have established a new dance group to perform at the XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival in the USA. Rehearsals are held every three months, gathering members from various countries.

A New Dance Group in the Diaspora
Young Latvians living abroad who wish to take part in the Song and Dance Festival but lack a local dance group have found a solution. Participants of the legendary "2x2" seminar have founded their own dance ensemble. The group was created to jointly learn the festival repertoire and perform at the upcoming XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival in the USA.
Infrequent Rehearsals, Broad Participation
The dance group holds rehearsals once every three months. Members travel from different countries to intensively work on the festival dance program. This format enables Latvians who live far apart to come together.
Preparing for the US Latvian Festival
This week, the group is meeting in the Catskills, New York. They are preparing for the US Latvian Song and Dance Festival, a significant event in diaspora cultural life. The new dance group exemplifies how initiative and shared desire can overcome geographical distances.
