Magazine PASTAIGA marks new issue and Latvia's women's achievement ranking
Restaurant POPCORN hosted a celebration of PASTAIGA magazine's September issue and its 'Latvian Women's Achievement TOP 2026', which features 161 women. The evening included a concert show by Dināra Rudāne dedicated to Whitney Houston's songs.
On the evening of September 2, restaurant POPCORN hosted a festive presentation of the September issue of magazine PASTAIGA, which also honored the publication's traditional 'Latvian Women's Achievement TOP 2026'. The event gathered a select circle of guests, including women featured in the ranking, the experts who helped compile it, and the magazine's longtime partners.
This was the fourth such event organized by PASTAIGA, part of a growing tradition of celebrating significant magazine milestones together with the people whose stories shape its content. The evening's program included dishes from SHIYUZU kitchen and a symbolic dance performance by a young girl named Railija, dedicated to dreams that eventually turn into achievements. The musical highlight was singer Dināra Rudāne's concert show 'Dinner with the Live Show Whitney', featuring modern interpretations of Whitney Houston's songs.
About the ranking
The PASTAIGA editorial team has compiled the women's achievement ranking for ten years. According to editor-in-chief Laura Lauziniece, the emphasis today lies not on titles or public recognition, but on women's influence, ideas, and courage to take responsibility. This year's ranking was shaped by 18 experts from various fields, each nominating favorites across 12 categories. A new category, 'Quiet Leader', was added for the first time this year.
In total, 161 women were featured in the 'Latvian Women's Achievement TOP 2026', with their accomplishments compiled in the magazine's September issue.
Among the guests
The event was attended by several well-known figures in Latvian society, including Signet Bank board chair Ineta Done, State Revenue Service director general Baiba Šmite-Roķe, Constitutional Court chair Irēna Kucina, ombudswoman Karīna Palkova, as well as several ranking experts, fashion designers, and the magazine's partners.
