Municipalities Invite Participation in Contest “Latvia's Best-Kept Apartment Building Courtyard 2026”
Until July 31, residents of apartment buildings can submit their courtyards for a contest with a prize fund of €7,000. Last year, two courtyards from Bauska region reached the finals.

The Latvian Association of Apartment Owners “Mājoklis” invites municipalities and residents to take part in the contest “Latvia's Best-Kept Apartment Building Courtyard 2026”. Applications are open until July 31 for building communities, associations, cooperatives, building managers and active residents.
The contest highlights good practices in municipal areas, appreciates residents' contributions, and promotes a tidy, safe, and sustainable living environment. It aims to inspire other building communities to improve their surroundings and strengthen their sense of belonging.
The total prize fund is €7,000. In five categories, three finalists each will compete for a €1,000 prize, and one overall winner will receive the main prize of €2,000.
Last year, more than 30 applications were submitted, and over 184,000 votes were cast in the public vote for the Sympathy Prize.
Last year's finalists from Bauska region included courtyards at Rīgas iela 41A in Iecava and Liepu iela 8 in Īslīce parish (Rītausmas). The Liepu iela 8 courtyard won third place nationally. It features linden trees, a barbecue area, and a rainwater collection system.
