Pauls Jonass Secures Tenth Place in MXGP Round in Italy; Reišulis Brothers Tenth and Thirteenth in MX2

Latvian motocross rider Pauls Jonass finished tenth overall in the MXGP class at the ninth round of the World Championship in Italy on Sunday, while in MX2, Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis placed tenth and Kārlis Alberts Reišulis placed thirteenth.

Jonass's Performance in MXGP

Pauls Jonass finished eighth in the second race of the MXGP class at the ninth round of the World Championship in Italy on Sunday. He started tenth, moved up one position on the third lap, and by lap 15 he was eighth. Winner Tim Gajser of Slovenia beat Jonass by 29.119 seconds. Second was Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings, third was Belgian Lucas Coenen.

In the first race, Jonass finished tenth, with Herlings taking the win. Combined results gave Jonass 24 points and tenth place. Overall standings after nine rounds: leader Coenen with 449 points, Herlings with 393, Frenchman Romain Febvre with 347. Jonass has 200 points and is tenth.

Reišulis Brothers in MX2

In MX2, Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis was sixth for the first ten laps of the second race but dropped to ninth by the finish. Kārlis Alberts Reišulis, after starting tenth, climbed to eighth on lap nine but fell to tenth by the end. The race was won by South African Camden McCLellan, ahead of Belgians Sacha Coenen and Liam Everts.

In the first race, Jānis was eighth, Kārlis 14th. For the Italian Grand Prix, Lucas Coenen won with 44 points, ahead of Spaniard Guillem Farres (41) and McCLellan (39). Jānis Reišulis had 25 points for tenth, Kārlis 18 points for 13th. Championship standings after nine rounds: Coenen leads with 431 points, Farres 390, McCLellan 373. Jānis (310) and Kārlis (244) are seventh and eighth respectively.

The World Championship this season consists of 20 rounds.
