Pauls Jonass Takes Third in MXGP Qualifying in South Africa
Latvian motocross rider Pauls Jonass finished third in the qualifying race for the MXGP world championship round in South Africa on Saturday, while MX2 riders Janis Martins Reisulis and Karlis Alberts Reisulis placed fourth and fifth respectively.

Qualifying for the Motocross World Championship round in South Africa took place on Saturday. In the MXGP class, Latvia's Pauls Jonass secured third place, trailing winner Lucas Coenen of Belgium by 19.979 seconds. Second place went to France's Romain Febvre, who was 4.335 seconds behind the leader.
After ten rounds, Coenen leads the overall standings with 506 points, followed by Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings with 449 points and Febvre with 394 points. Jonass sits in tenth place with 234 points.
In the MX2 class, Latvian riders Janis Martins Reisulis and Karlis Alberts Reisulis finished fourth and fifth, respectively. The qualifying winner was Germany's Simon Langenfelder, ahead of Spain's Guillem Farres (+6.577) and local rider Camden McIellan (+14.976). J. Reisulis was 15.910 seconds behind the winner, while K. Reisulis trailed by 23.784 seconds.
Both MXGP and MX2 classes will hold two races on Sunday to determine the round winners.
