Latvia's consumer watchdog urges avoiding new bookings with travel operator Digitours after insolvency filing

Travel operator Digitours has filed for insolvency in August 2026, prompting the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) to warn the public against purchasing new tours or making any payments to the company.

PTAC says there is a significant risk that customers will neither receive the services they paid for nor get their money back. As a result, the centre is advising consumers to refrain from any new transactions with the operator.

The insolvency application was made this August. PTAC's warning remains in place while the company's financial situation is being assessed. Consumers who were planning to travel with Digitours are encouraged to carefully weigh the potential risks before making any advance payments.

At this stage, it is not recommended to enter into new contracts with the travel operator. Even within existing contracts, additional payments should be avoided. PTAC points out that the company's insolvency means its ability to meet obligations to customers is under threat.

For those who have already paid for a trip, recovering the money may be difficult. PTAC stresses that making any payment to this operator at this time is not safe.
