Flooding triggered by the breach of the Dursupe mill pond dam has now extended to the Tukums region. Previously, the floods had already affected the Talsu region, and water levels continue to rise. During the past night, rescue teams evacuated several individuals and one dog from inundated houses. The Talsu regional municipality announced that it intends to ask the state for approximately 500,000 euros to restore road sections damaged by heavy rains and flooding. At least 20 road sections are reported to be damaged. In response to the situation, an emergency meeting of the relevant Saeima committee has been called for tomorrow to address flood-related issues. Local authorities and state institutions are monitoring the situation and providing assistance to those affected.
