About 2,500 customers still without power Friday morning after storm

By Friday morning, August 28, grid operator Sadales tīkls had restored electricity to most customers affected by a recent storm, but around 2,500 remained without power. Repair work continues, though the pace of restoration is gradually slowing.

Latvia's electricity distribution operator, AS "Sadales tīkls," reported that by 6:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, power had been restored to the majority of customers affected by a recent storm. Still, roughly 2,500 customers remained without electricity.

The company said repair crews are continuing to work at an unrelenting pace, but the overall speed of restoration is gradually decreasing. This is because each fixed fault now affects a progressively smaller share of the remaining disconnected customers, compared with the larger outages resolved earlier.

Sadales tīkls has not given a specific timeline for when power will be fully restored to all affected customers, but stressed that repair work is ongoing continuously.
