Meteorologists report that after recent record daily heat levels in Latvia, temperatures are set to drop noticeably in the coming days.

Friday and the night ahead

On the night of Friday, September 11, skies will gradually clear from the west, though rain is expected in places, with possible thunderstorms and heavy downpours. During the day, cloud cover will vary, with rain limited to the eastern region in the morning hours and the rest of the day staying dry. Wind will be light to moderate, with coastal gusts reaching 15–19 m/s, and up to 20–22 m/s along the sea coast at night.

On Saturday, rain showers will again alternate with sunny spells, and wind will weaken. Fog is expected in eastern areas overnight. Nighttime temperatures will range from +7 to +11 degrees, warmer along the coast at up to +15, while daytime temperatures will rise to +15…+19 degrees.

Weekend and the coming week

Sunday will bring more widespread rain throughout much of the day. Nighttime temperatures will range from +10 to +13 degrees, warmer near the coast, with daytime highs of +15…+19 degrees.

Forecasters expect similar conditions to persist into the first half of next week, with periodic rain continuing, nighttime temperatures staying between +11 and +16 degrees, and daytime temperatures reaching +16…+20 degrees.
