Heavy rains flood Stradiņš Hospital's 32nd building; 32 patients transferred
Heavy downpours on the night of July 6 flooded Building 32 of Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital, damaging infrastructure and forcing the transfer of 32 patients.

A powerful rainstorm swept through Riga on the night of July 6, causing significant damage to one of the city's leading medical institutions. Building 32 of the Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital was completely flooded when water overwhelmed the building's defenses. Hospital management immediately initiated an evacuation procedure, and 32 patients were transferred to other wards that were not affected. The infrastructure damage is substantial – several departments were flooded, and medical equipment and communication systems were damaged. Hospital staff worked through the night to ensure patient safety and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed, and steps are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. The beginning of July in Latvia has seen unusually heavy rainfall, causing problems elsewhere in the city as well, with flooded streets and basements. The hospital remains in emergency mode, and patients continue to receive necessary care.
