Heatwave Expected in Latvia After Holidays, Temperatures Up to +30°C

After the Easter holidays, Latvia is set to experience a significant weather shift. The first workday after the holiday will be warm but cloudy, with rain only in isolated areas. On Wednesday night, the sky will be partly cloudy, with brief rain still possible in the east early in the night. Light winds will blow, and fog may form in some regions. Air temperature will drop to +10...+14°C, with slightly warmer conditions along the coast. In Riga, the night will be dry with temperatures around +15°C.

Thursday will be cloudy with some clear spells. Brief rain is expected in parts of eastern Latvia. Winds will remain light, and temperatures will reach +21...+26°C, except in Vidzeme and parts of the coast where it will be cooler, +18...+21°C. In Riga, no significant precipitation is expected, with highs of +22...+24°C.

Warm weather will persist until the end of the month, but the weekend will bring a heatwave. A hot air mass from Western Europe will reach Latvia, and in many areas the mercury is expected to hit or exceed +30°C.
