After Tukums Line Repairs, Trains Still Not Faster
Despite completed repairs on the Tukums line, electric trains have not increased their speed as promised, leaving passengers disappointed.

Train Speed Unchanged After Repairs
Passenger hopes for faster trips following the Tukums line repairs have not materialized. Although the renovation work has ended, electric trains continue to run at the same speed as before, not faster as was promised.
Passenger Dissatisfaction
Sergejs, a resident of Jūrmala, expressed frustration over the inconveniences during the modernization. He said that to get to work and back, he had to switch from train to bus and back again. The usual 30-minute commute turned into an hour or even longer. Sergejs had hoped that after the work was completed, trains would run faster, as previously promised.
Promises vs. Reality
Before the repairs, board member of "Latvijas dzelzceļš" Mārtiņš Ķeņģis stated that the new contact network would make train movement safer and in the future – faster. However, so far no increase in speed has been observed, and passengers feel let down.
