Several of Russia's largest news websites became inaccessible on the afternoon of October 8. Earlier that day, Ukraine had attacked a Yandex data center in the Ryazan region.
The websites of many leading Russian news outlets stopped loading on the afternoon of October 8, according to the Russian business outlet RBC.

Strike on the data center
Earlier the same day, in the morning, Ukraine attacked a data center owned by Yandex in Sasovo, in the Ryazan region. The strike started a fire and forced the facility to halt operations temporarily.
Yandex said the attack had affected "part of its infrastructure."
The source does not state outright that the outages were caused by the strike on the data center, although the two events are reported together. Other details, including the extent of the damage and how long repairs may take, have not been clarified.
