The United List achieved the best result in its history in the Saeima elections, winning 41 seats — a success that experts are already calling unique. However, political analysts warn that maintaining this level of support will be difficult given geopolitical challenges, rising prices, and budget problems.

Difficult decisions ahead

In the LSM program "Let's Discuss in the Evening," political experts Danuta Dembovska and Sergejs Potapkins analyzed the election results and offered forecasts for the coming years. According to their assessment, the new government will need to make a series of unpopular decisions in the near future, including cutting government spending to address budget issues.

Why such broad support for Kulbergs

The experts discussed the reasons behind Andris Kulbergs receiving such a wide mandate from voters, as well as analyzed the situation on the protest flank of politics. One central question was whether the new government will be able to serve out its full term until the next elections, given the difficult decisions ahead and pressure from various segments of society.

The experts emphasized that while the election result gives Kulbergs and his party considerable freedom of action, this freedom comes with significant responsibility — public expectations following such a decisive victory will be high, while the economic and geopolitical situation suggests there will be no easy solutions.
