After storm damage, event organisers weigh need for unified safety criteria

A powerful storm that hit the country in recent days forced many event organisers to revise their plans. Some concerts and other public events were cancelled or rescheduled, while other organisers decided to proceed with their events as planned.

This inconsistency has raised the question of whether the industry has sufficiently clear and unified criteria for deciding whether an event should be held at all under certain weather conditions. There is also uncertainty about how to proceed if an event has already begun – whether and at what point organisers should stop it for safety reasons.
