Four bodies recovered from water bodies

Over the past four days, rescuers have recovered four bodies from various water bodies. On Friday, June 19, one person was pulled from a river in Jūrmala. On Sunday, June 21, three deaths occurred in different locations: in Vecpiebalga parish (Cēsis municipality), in Sēja parish (Saulkrasti municipality) from a lake, and in Lendži parish (Rēzekne municipality) from a pond.

Search continues for two missing persons

Two additional possible victims are still being sought. On June 20, a call was received about a minor drowning in the Gauja River in Valmiera. Rescue teams searched the water with a boat and a drone, and divers examined the riverbed. The search continued on Sunday and Monday, but the person has not yet been found. Also on Sunday, rescuers are searching for a possible drowning victim in a river in Riga.

Another incident – broken legs

On Sunday, firefighters and rescuers brought a person from a water body to an ambulance. The person reportedly broke both legs while jumping into the water from the shore.
