Penge and Hillier share lead as rain disrupts British Masters

The British Masters at the Belfry in Warwickshire has been severely disrupted by stormy weather, with play halted for a second consecutive day and more than nine hours lost across Thursday and Friday.
England's Marco Penge and New Zealand's Daniel Hillier now share the lead at 11 under par after completing five holes of round three on Saturday before darkness forced a suspension of play at 19:57 BST. The action will resume at 07:00 BST on Sunday, with players continuing in their third-round pairings for the final round as well. Sunday's forecast points to a dry morning, though heavy rain is expected to move in during the afternoon and evening.
Penge, 28, had a marathon Friday, playing 32 holes and carding an eagle, ten birdies and a single bogey. He reached 11 under after 14 holes before fading light stopped play, then returned Saturday morning to complete his second round at 10 under, giving him a one-shot lead at the halfway stage. He described his round as a typical rollercoaster, but one that worked in his favour this time.
Penge and Hillier began round three around 18:30 BST and finished the day one stroke ahead of Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin, who has played six holes so far. McKibbin, 23, who joined LIV Golf in January 2025, completed all 18 holes of his second round on Saturday, adding four birdies before closing with a bogey, an eagle and another bogey.
