Penja moves to Auda, Ogre bolsters attack with Fokam
Brazilian forward Brayan Penha has left Riga FC for Auda after three seasons, while newly promoted Ogre United has signed French striker Jacques Fokam, a former teammate of Rihards Matrevics and Roberts Ozols.
Latvian Virsliga clubs continue reshaping their squads during the summer transfer window. Brayan Penha has moved to Auda after three years with Riga FC. He arrived in Latvia following a strong season in Slovakia, where he scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in 30 matches. In his first two and a half seasons at Riga FC, he made 69 appearances with 19 goals and 8 assists, but this season he has featured in just four Virsliga matches, mostly playing for the club's reserve team in the First League.
Auda has also added 22-year-old Brazilian winger Tauan, who joined from Brazilian Serie B club America MG. Earlier this year he was fairly active, scoring one goal and providing two assists in nine state championship matches, along with 11 Serie B appearances, but he has not played since May. Both new signings arrived too late to be registered for the upcoming European qualifying second-leg match.
Ogre strengthens its attack
Shortly after loaning in Ingars Pulis from Liepaja, newly promoted Ogre United has also signed 24-year-old French centre-forward Jacques Fokam. He began last season with Dukla Prague's first team, making 12 appearances in the Czech top flight and scoring one goal, before finishing the season in Albania alongside Roberts Ozols at Bylis, where he made four appearances. Both of his previous clubs were relegated from their respective leagues. Fokam has not played since March. His former teammates Rihards Matrevics and Roberts Ozols are now both in Latvia, playing for RFS and Grobina respectively.
