An 80-year-old man died at a gas station in Lysva, a city in Perm Krai, after falling ill while waiting in line to fill up his car, local newspaper Iskra reported. Bystanders called an ambulance, but paramedics were unable to save him. The Perm Krai Health Ministry's press service told 59.ru that the emergency medical team attempted resuscitation but their efforts were unsuccessful. The man died on the evening of July 14.

This marks the third death at a gas station in Russia since late June. In late June, a 75-year-old driver died at a gas station in Petrozavodsk, Karelia. On June 28, a 43-year-old resident died near a gas station in Chita, though media reports say he was not waiting in line himself but had driven an acquaintance there.

Russia's ongoing fuel crisis has forced drivers to spend hours in line at gas stations. Many regions have imposed limits on how much fuel a vehicle can purchase per visit, and some have introduced fueling by license plate number or by QR code.
