Exhibition dedicated to Jüri Arrak's 90th birthday opens in Pärnu
An exhibition titled "Püha Jüri Arrak" has opened at the Pärnu Museum of Contemporary Art, honoring the 90th anniversary of Estonian artist Jüri Arrak.

The Pärnu Museum of Contemporary Art has opened an exhibition titled "Püha Jüri Arrak" ("Saint Jüri Arrak") to mark the 90th birthday of Estonian artist Jüri Arrak. In the exhibition's preface, curator Mark Soosaar stated that Arrak was and remains a prophet whose art continues to live on after his death.
According to Soosaar, pagan and Christian ideas, intertwined with the native language and the national state, burned brightly in Arrak's soul and paintings. His works featuring chameleons and a red figure on Kalevipoeg's back serve as a warning for future generations.
The exhibition will run until August 10.
