Businessman named Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores wins mayoral race in Peruvian Andes
Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores, a 45-year-old businessman, has won the mayoral election in the remote district of Queropalca in Peru's Huánuco region. He takes office on 1 January.

A 45-year-old businessman named Hitler Mussolini Simeon Flores has been elected mayor of Queropalca, a remote district in the Andes of Peru's central Huánuco region. Two of his names match those of notorious European dictators. According to local election data, he will take office on 1 January.
The result
The vote took place on 4 October. Flores, who ran for the leftwing Ahora Nación party, received 229 of 663 votes, according to Peru's national office of electoral processes. His nearest competitor, far-right candidate Gaspar Osorio, got 204.
Flores works in freight transportation. Electoral authorities say he belonged to Popular Force, the rightwing party of Peruvian president Keiko Fujimori, until 2025.
