Kurmene is preparing for its annual Peter's Day celebrations, scheduled for the end of June. The event will span two days: Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.

Saturday will focus on music, poetry, and theater. At 5 PM, a songwriter and poetry evening will take place at the Kurmene Klētiņa. Later, at 8 PM, actor Vilis Daudziņš and musician Jēkabs Nīmanis will perform the program "Naughty Italian Tales" at the park stage.

Sunday features the main festivities. From 9 AM, a Peter's Day fair will operate in the market square, offering local products and crafts. At 11 AM, a concert by amateur performers and a foam party for children are scheduled. A festive Mass will be held at 4 PM at the Kurmene Catholic Church, led by retired Bishop Edvards Pavlovskis of the Jelgava Diocese.

In the evening, at 7 PM, a concert program "Dreamed World" will take place at the Kurmene stage, featuring the band "Sestā jūdze" and singer Miks Galvanovskis. The celebration will conclude with a dance party with the band "Bruģis" and DJs from "Skaņa V".

The tradition of Peter's Day in Kurmene dates back to Count Peter Komorowski, and in the past, it was considered a bigger holiday than Midsummer. Today, the event serves as an unofficial parish reunion, drawing former residents from across Latvia.
