Peugeot Creates Concept Car for Dog Owners: E-5008 Dog Edition
Peugeot, in collaboration with Stellantis Design Studio, has developed the E-5008 Dog Edition concept car tailored for dog owners, though series production is not currently planned.

Peugeot, together with Stellantis Design Studio, has created the E-5008 Dog Edition concept vehicle, designed for people who frequently travel with their four-legged friends. Based on the fully electric Peugeot E-5008 SUV, the concept showcases how future cars could be further adapted to pet owners' needs. The manufacturer emphasizes that the model is not intended for series production at this point – it serves as a design laboratory for testing new ideas.
Unlike the usual approach of simply adding pet accessories, the designers focused on traveling from the dog's perspective. They analyzed how dogs perceive colors, materials, sounds, and the car's interior, aiming to create a calm and pleasant environment for both the animal and other passengers. The interior color palette features blue and yellow tones, as these are among the few shades dogs can distinguish well. Additionally, soft and non-slip materials have been used to enhance comfort during travel.
The concept includes practical solutions for transporting dogs. A modular mat can be used in the trunk, on the rear seats, or outside the car as a dog bed. There is also a special padded pillow by the window for the dog to rest its head. Equipment includes protective mats, integrated food and water bowls, a smart safety leash, bags for both owner and dog, a special Peugeot toy, and a dog blow-dryer that operates using the vehicle's Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function and is stored under the trunk floor. Existing Peugeot accessories such as trunk protectors and safety grilles are also incorporated.
In terms of digital features, the navigation system can suggest charging stops near parks or walking trails, allowing both the car and dog to be prepared for the next leg of the journey. The Dog Guardian Mode automatically maintains a comfortable interior temperature, enables remote monitoring of the dog, and sends notifications to the owner if necessary. Meanwhile, the Dog Retriever function uses a special sound signal to help summon a wandering dog back to the car, making it easier for the pet to return.
