Pevkur confirms US weapons deliveries to Estonia resuming soon
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur has confirmed that US weapons deliveries, paused due to the war in Iran, will resume in the coming months, except for ATACMS tactical missiles.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur has confirmed that US weapons deliveries to Estonia, temporarily suspended because of the war in Iran, will resume in the coming months. Pevkur told ERR that an agreement has been reached with the U.S. side regarding the deliveries.
Currently, deliveries of munitions are permitted, with the exception of one type – ATACMS tactical missiles. They remain on hold primarily due to U.S. operations in Iran. Other munitions, including training ammunition for HIMARS and GMLRS systems, have already been approved for delivery. They are expected to arrive in Estonia soon, with logistical details being coordinated to arrange for an aircraft to collect them.
In the spring, the minister reported that the biggest problem was related to ammunition for the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system. Regarding ATACMS, Pevkur stated that their deliveries currently depend on developments in Iran.
For transporting munitions, Estonia prefers air transport as it is faster, but sea transport is also being considered as a backup option. The minister confirmed that although deliveries have been delayed by four months, the timeline for further shipments will not shift as a result.
The Estonian Defense Forces are equipped with six HIMARS (M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems), which were handed over to Estonia on April 30, 2025. In April, the State Defense Investment Center and U.S. defense company Lockheed Martin signed a contract for the purchase of three more HIMARS systems, which are to arrive in Estonia in 2027.
