221 combat clashes recorded at Ukraine's front in past 24 hours, most in Pokrovsk sector
Ukraine's General Staff reported 221 battlefield clashes over the past 24 hours, with the heaviest fighting in the Pokrovsk and South Sloboda sectors. Russia also used hundreds of guided bombs and thousands of kamikaze drones.

Ukraine's General Staff, in its situation report as of 22:00 on September 9, said 221 combat clashes were recorded along the front over the past day. Russian forces were most active in the Pokrovsk and South Sloboda directions.
According to the report, Russian forces carried out 64 air strikes during the day, dropping 247 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 6,777 kamikaze drones for strikes and conducted 1,901 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
Pokrovsk sector under heaviest pressure
The most intense fighting remained in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 enemy attacks. Occupying forces attempted to advance near Toretsk, Novohryhorivka, Stepy, Hannivka, Dobropillia, Shevchenko, Svitle, Matiasheve, Serhiivka, Udachne and Molodetske.
According to preliminary estimates, 56 occupiers were killed and eight wounded in this sector during the day. Nine vehicles, four pieces of special equipment, two drone control points and 34 enemy shelters were destroyed, while 12 vehicles, four artillery systems, four drone control points and 177 shelters were damaged. A total of 289 drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
Other sectors
High-intensity assaults were also recorded in the South Sloboda direction, where Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions near Lyman, Starytsia, Shyroke and Chuhunivka 11 times, with one clash still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, defenders repelled eight attack attempts near Rizdvianka, Ternuvate, Hirke and Charivne. In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops stopped three enemy attempts to advance near Novoselivka and Dibrova, with one clash continuing. Three attacks were repelled in the Kostiantynivka direction, while two attacks each were stopped in the Kupiansk, North Sloboda and Kursk directions. One attack each was repelled in the Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Oleksandrivka directions. Russian forces conducted no offensive actions in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovske directions during the day.
