Two trucks collide near Salacgrīva, traffic blocked

Two heavy trucks collided on the Tallinn highway near Salacgrīva on Tuesday, injuring two people. Traffic in the area has been blocked in both directions.

On Tuesday, September 8, at around 11:40, two heavy trucks collided on the Tallinn highway (A1) near the town of Salacgrīva.

Two people were injured in the crash and taken to a medical facility, the State Police confirmed to the news portal Delfi.

As a result of the collision, traffic on the road section near the 90th kilometer has been fully halted in both directions. Firefighters at the scene also reported on the situation, and the company Latvian State Roads shared information about the blocked route.

It is not yet known how long traffic disruptions on this stretch of road will continue, nor are the exact circumstances and causes of the crash currently known.
