Around 2,500 customers in Latvia still without power five days after storm

As of Friday morning, power supply had not yet been restored to roughly 2,500 customers in Latvia, according to grid operator "Sadales tīkls". The disruptions have persisted for five days since a powerful storm struck the country, causing extensive damage to the electricity distribution infrastructure.

"Sadales tīkls" is responsible for maintaining the electricity distribution network and repairing damage across most of Latvia's territory. The company provided the update on the number of customers still without power to the LETA news agency.

The storm caused widespread damage to the power grid, and repairs have taken several days, as crews often need to fix or replace damaged power lines and other infrastructure in various locations, including areas that are difficult to access. While power has already been restored to the majority of customers who lost electricity after the storm, disruptions continue for some households and businesses even five days after the event.

It is not currently publicly known exactly when power will be fully restored to the remaining approximately 2,500 customers. "Sadales tīkls" continues working to repair the damage in order to restore stable electricity supply to all affected users as soon as possible.
