Five police officers suspected of taking bribe from truck drivers
Latvia's Internal Security Bureau detained five State Police officials in late August on suspicion of accepting a bribe from a foreign truck's drivers in exchange for not filing a legally required administrative violation report.

The Internal Security Bureau (IDB) detained five officials of the State Police in late August on suspicion of accepting a bribe.
According to available information, the officers allegedly took the bribe from the drivers of a foreign cargo truck. In exchange for the payment, the police reportedly did not draw up the administrative violation report that should have been issued under the law.
The case is under investigation by the Internal Security Bureau, and the detained officers are suspects in the bribery case.
