Nine drivers caught under the influence on Latvian roads on Friday
Latvian police detained nine drivers on Friday for operating vehicles under the influence of intoxicating substances — eight for alcohol and one for drugs.

The State Police reported that on Friday, several drivers were stopped across Latvia for driving while impaired by intoxicating substances.
In total, nine drivers were detained. Eight of them were found to be under the influence of alcohol, while one driver was found to be under the influence of narcotic substances.
Police continue to monitor road traffic in an effort to curb driving under the influence, which remains one of the significant risk factors in traffic accidents.
